Interest of SMA Negeri 6 Bungo Students in Participating in Futsal Extracurricular Activities Minat Siswa SMA Negeri 6 Bungo dalam Mengikuti Ekstrakurikuler Futsal

Abstract
This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining futsal extracurricular achievements at SMA Negeri 6 Bungo, which has affected students’ motivation and interest in joining. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of students’ interest in participating in futsal extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 6 Bungo. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey technique. The research instrument was a Guttman scale questionnaire consisting of 12 positive and negative statements. The population of this study was all students of SMA Negeri 6 Bungo, while the sample was determined using purposive sampling, involving 28 male students. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques through percentage calculations, then interpreted based on the interest categories according to Arikunto (2006).
The results showed that students’ interest in participating in futsal extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 6 Bungo was in the good category. Most students were in the very good and good categories, especially in the indicators of attention and involvement, followed by indicators of interest and enjoyment. This indicates that futsal activities can serve as a platform for students to develop talents, foster enjoyment, build teamwork, and strengthen motivation in sports. However, a small number of students showed low interest, influenced by internal factors such as self-confidence and personal motivation, as well as external factors such as peer support. In general, it can be concluded that SMA Negeri 6 Bungo students have a high level of interest in futsal extracurricular activities. Therefore, schools are expected to continue providing support and innovations in futsal extracurricular programs to further enhance students’ interest.
