Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effect of implementing Powtoon as a learning medium on students’ interest and learning outcomes in the ICT subject for grade XI Accounting students at SMKN 3 Bungo. This research is considered important, as low levels of learning interest and achievement may affect the overall quality of education. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research population consisted of all grade XI Accounting students at SMKN 3 Bungo, totaling 37 students, who were also taken as the research sample. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of 18 students who were taught using web-based learning media through the Powtoon application, and a control group of 19 students who learned without receiving any special treatment. The instruments used included a questionnaire to measure learning interest and a test to evaluate students’ learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted through normality testing, hypothesis testing, and the Independent Sample T-Test for both learning interest and learning outcomes. The results of the study revealed that the implementation of Powtoon-based learning media had a significant effect on students’ learning interest, as evidenced by a t-value of 5.704, which was higher than the t-table value of 0.444, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Furthermore, the use of Powtoon also had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, indicated by a t-value of 6.894 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of students’ learning outcomes.
