Plagiarism Policy
Luminance: English Language & Literary Inquiry (LUMEN) is committed to upholding the originality and academic integrity of all scholarly works published in this journal. Every submitted manuscript will undergo a similarity check using reputable plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
1. Plagiarism Tolerance Limit
- Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% (excluding references, quotations, and bibliography) will be returned to the author for revision or rejected.
- Manuscripts below this threshold will still be reviewed carefully by the editor to ensure the absence of partial plagiarism or duplicate publication.
2. Unacceptable Forms of Academic Misconduct
- Copying text, data, or images without proper citation or acknowledgment.
- Duplicating previously published work, including self-plagiarism.
- Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously (multiple submission).
3. Actions in Case of Proven Plagiarism
- The manuscript will be rejected prior to publication.
- If plagiarism is identified after publication, the article will be formally retracted and publicly announced on the journal’s website.
- Authors found to have committed serious ethical violations may be subject to temporary or permanent bans on future submissions.
Through this plagiarism policy, LUMEN reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding scientific integrity, maintaining publication quality, and respecting the intellectual property rights of authors.
